Negative Thinking Impacts Us All

When I looked into the audience, there were people who were looking at me like I lost my mind. That caught my attention.
Recently I was at a WESK event (Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan). It was ‘open mic’ night and if we as entrepreneurs chose to, we got three minutes to introduce our business to the audience. It was a wonderful opportunity and I took it.
It’s not uncommon to hear people talk about having no energy, feeling drained, not getting a good vibe about things. This seemed to be a great topic for introducing my business. I could talk about our energy and the things that impact how we feel.
My turn to speak arrived and I asked for a volunteer to come forward to demonstrate muscle testing. This is a technique used to give us instant feedback on changes in how we feel energetically.
I began my introduction by talking a bit about muscle testing and demonstrated what it looked like using my volunteer. I got to the place where I needed the help from the audience and asked them to think negative thoughts about my volunteer (she knew in advance I was going to do this).
I felt the resistance from the audience and by the looks on some of their faces they must have thought I was nuts.
I encouraged them to play with me as it was part of the demonstration. The wave of negative thoughts came forward and I muscle tested my volunteer. She was surprised to feel instantly tired and struggled with holding her arm up. I explained to everyone negative thoughts about others can do that…feels like a tired, heavy feeling in the energy.
Then I invited the audience to send uplifting, complimentary thoughts to my volunteer. In no time a strength came over her and I muscle tested her again. This time her arm could easily stay up and she now had a smile on her face. She was intrigued by her experience and sat down.
I went on to explain to the audience that there are many invisible influences impacting our energy levels whether we know it or not. These are things like negative thoughts, negative emotions, along with sensations of aches and pains felt in our physical bodies. Whatever we struggle with in our lives affects our energy.
Whether we’re dealing with anxiety, burnout, stressed to the max…those things influence how we go about our day interacting in relationships of all kinds.
Going back to the muscle testing, it was my intention to help the audience become aware of the kinds of thoughts we think about ourselves and others.
These would be negative thoughts we have related to people who upset, annoy or frustrate us. Negative thoughts we have related to poor self-image or self-esteem. Continually listening to negative thinking, regardless of who is on the receiving end of it, creates a tired feeling or drain in our energy.
This isn’t about not having negative thoughts! This is about becoming aware of the impact those thoughts have on us all.
Personally, I feel there is nothing more powerful than our own grace and awareness. Why? Because when we have awareness we have everything. The moment we’re aware we’re thinking negatively, we get to make a new choice.
If you’re feeling unusually drained and want to move through it, consider a private session with me. You can experience the uplifting change for yourself.
Wherever you are on your journey, may you find your own truth…find what works for you… and you’ll always be guided to feel at peace inside.
