As a country, Canada celebrated 151 years old this past weekend. Everywhere you looked there was red and white – the colors of the Canadian flag.
I got to thinking about red flags. Here is a short note for you to consider as you move into the month of July!
There may be times when you experience some kind of physical body pain. For example, stomach aches, cramping or headaches. Body pain indicates there is unrest. Pain does get your attention. What do you do when those pains continue?
As well, there may be times in your day where a problem surfaces causing you to react and get emotionally upset in some way. For example, maybe you were feeling resentment towards a family member. Maybe you lost your patience with the children and yelled at them. Maybe you have some kind of grudge with a co-worker. Reactions surface when you are feeling some kind of unrest inside. Reactions do get your attention. What do you do when the unrest continues to surface?
There is empowerment in pain and reactions! Both pain and reactions act like red flags getting your attention. Red flags help you to be aware. Something in that moment doesn’t feel right to you – the unrest. Once you have awareness the resolving process has already begun.
Awareness is like fire! It is awareness that literally burns away your negative karma. The result? You actually do experience more and more rest inside.
