I am in awe at what I continue to learn from our children. They are amazing teachers! I would very much enjoy sharing this ‘real life’ story with you….may it assist you on your journey as well.
Not too long ago, our granddaughter Calli started kindergarten school. As the months went by, the teacher noticed things about Calli’s development she wanted to share with Calli’s parents. When talking with our daughter Brittany, the teacher mentioned a couple of things like Calli doesn’t write numbers or letters-she doesn’t know what they are, Calli says things like ‘gotfor’ instead of forgot…and she also mentioned Calli explains things very differently from any other student she has taught. For example, when the teacher asked her what color is the sun, Calli answered saying, ‘the sun goes down so the moon can shine.’ As parents they were concerned as well….this new information caused them much ‘unrest.’ Yes they had the awareness to work with …how were they going to handle it? Both parents have been approaching Calli and Calli’s learning in a slightly different…yet amazingly wonderful way.
Another month went by and one day Brittany so innocently shared she didn’t feel her prayers for Calli were being answered. I listened to what she shared and celebrated with her the awareness and insights she had around all she was experiencing through this time of learning and growing….not only for Brittany but for everyone in her family…even our family. A few days went by again…and I was shown something special as far as what was being expressed through our beautiful families!
When we pray to our Divine how can we come to trust our prayers are ‘working’…if I may use that word? Using this example with Calli, in the weeks that followed the call from the teacher so many shifts had taken place in Calli’s whole family. I shared with Brittany those answered prayers she talked about could show up through any person in Calli’s life….and it would be for the greatest good of the WHOLE. Dad or mom may connect with someone and that someone may be the answered prayer they were looking for. Calli’s brother may be the source of change, for example behaving differently with her. The teacher may be the source of divine intervention. The babysitter may bring through the miracle she was praying for. Other students….or even those other student’s family members may be the source which the Divine chooses to bring through miracle after miracle….all for Calli’s learning and growing. I do know it has been amazing to witness the blessings that have been expressed on behalf of our precious Calli.
Where are we looking when it comes to recognizing our prayers have been answered? Often times what we feel should be the ‘answer’ may not be the answer that is best for our learning and growing. I appreciate many elements come into play in the unfolding process of everyday living like trust…detachment…our state of mind or even our consciousness. Through our prayers we come to know the power of what our Divine can do to bring about amazing changes in our life and the lives of those around us. Our Divine knows!
As this Christmas season is approaching consider this…..one of the beautiful things I will always remember from my trip to India this year….a ‘teacher’ said, ‘One of the greatest things we can do for someone is pray for them.’ Praying for someone is a gift that may only take a minute or two of our time…the rest is in the hands of our Divine.
Wishing you so much love and light as you journey forward…..
