The thoughts that run through your mind totally make a difference. What can you do about them? Allow me to share this personal experience with you.
A while back I was listening to a couple of different speakers talk on some subjects I was interested in learning more about. I noticed I was unsettled as I listened through their presentations.
The next day when I woke up I was lying in bed for a few minutes before getting up. I started to think about the speakers I listened to the night before. I wanted to know what was causing me to feel unsettled. I listened to what the voice in my head was saying. After a minute or so I could see the words coming from that voice were judgmental and critical of speakers in general. The unsettled feelings had to do with my unrest around speaking on stages. I continued to observe what was running through my head.
In no time my thoughts moved to presentations I myself have done in past. I caught myself replaying the same negative thoughts over again.
Within seconds I saw it!!! What I saw was different from anything I’ve experienced before. I actually witnessed the dynamic from a place of greater awareness.
I clearly saw a new perspective on what my thoughts were doing for me and my future! The subtle negative thoughts playing over and over in my mind were literally steering me in the direction I didn’t want to go. I could feel the swirling energy right along with the thoughts I was having. To actually feel the effect of my thoughts on my energy helped me to really be conscious. Conscious of what I’m thinking when it comes to moving forward in the direction my heart wants to go. What was so cool was noticing how this new impacted my physical body. This awareness had me physically standing more upright. An unexpected gift!
Your thoughts and emotions do impact your physical body and overall health. You can easily see this for yourself! Just think of something you don’t like or even hate. As you think of that…notice what your face is doing, what your body is doing. You may notice a heavy feeling come over you. Now consider this…if you spent a lot of time in your day thinking or focusing on things you don’t like about yourself or even others….your body starts to physically respond. So many thoughts are subconscious. Subconscious means you are not aware of them. Could you imagine if you are doing this regularly?
Now think about something you really like or love. Something that lights up your heart. As you think of that…again notice what your face is doing, what your body is doing. You may notice a lighter feeling. Wouldn’t it be great to spend majority of your day in that space? Yes, your body responds to that in wonderful ways.
Here is something else I want to point out. When you went from feeling something you don’t like or hate…..to feeling something you like or love, the changes you felt happened because of the change in your thoughts only.
Negative thoughts, worry, being bothered about things are examples of the ‘unrest’ you can feel inside. Overtime the physical body reflects that unrest. Overtime your ‘future’ reflects that unrest.
What can you do about it? Being aware is the first step giving you the controls when it comes to steering your life. Those subtle negative thoughts playing over and over in your mind can literally steer you in the direction u probably would prefer not to go in.
Thoughts will come and go. You cannot hold onto any thought. If you don’t believe me try thinking of a positive thought with the intention to hold on to it all day. That is not possible. Thoughts come and go. The thoughts you most need to pay attention to are the ones:
- you hear repeated over and over;
- that cause you to feel unrest inside;
- you hear being critical or judgmental of others;
- you can’t get out of your mind.
The other important fact about thoughts is they have no life force! They have no life until you give them time and energy. That can be empowering in itself to know that! That alone can bring about a more positive future. Again this is about being aware.
The thoughts that run through your mind are the thoughts which create your reality. Those little voices you hear inside your head do make a difference. You see hand and hand with your thoughts are the feelings and emotions. If your thoughts cause you to feel good and uplifted great. If your thoughts cause you to feel down and upset it would be those thoughts which can lead you to the unrest inside. That unrest may be speaking to you from a very deep place…depending on how much inner work you’ve done. Once you resolve that unrest, those thoughts will transform. You get the choice to work powerfully with any thought.
