When we are bothered about something…do we really know what the issue is we are working with? Do we really know ‘what’ we are dealing with when it comes to resolving any of our challenges? Where would we even begin in the healing process? I appreciate these aren’t your average type questions in the day. Allow me to share a story with you….
My husband, Jimmy, has been moving through some pretty tough challenges in his life lately. Those tough challenges have expressed themselves through his health…through his worrying…and through his ‘unrest.’ Here is a brief sharing of what has taken place over the last 2 years.
Jimmy, his uncle, his best friend, and his best friend’s dad were in partnership building a cabin up north. Two years ago, Jimmy had a dispute with his best friend causing the friendship and partnership to be dissolved. In this last year, both Jimmy and his uncle sold their share in the cabin. Now at tax time, Jimmy is dealing with having to claim capital gains. Yes, today there is a lot of unrest!
A couple of days ago, Jimmy shared how he was feeling so ‘sore’ in his physical body. I asked him what he felt the ‘soreness’ was from. He said, ‘Is it the capital gain issue?’ I sat for a minute getting a feel of what he was sharing. I replied, ‘Right now you are dealing with your income tax and having to pay tax on the capital gains. As much as that bothers you right now, how would you know what the underlying issue is?’ I went on to say, ‘Is it a friendship issue, an ownership issue, partnership issue, a relative issue…is it a money issue? Is it a tax issue, timing issue…’ I appreciate you may get the point by now. So much unrest had come up over the past two years…it was almost like what’s really going on?
Have you experienced anything like that in your life? Have you maybe been involved in a relationship issue with a family member or a ex-spouse where over time you don’t even know what you’re working on anymore? The most welcoming news in all of that is YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO KNOW!
I invite you to consider these possible shortcuts to finding resolution:
1) Think about the problem or the situation involved. Once you have whatever that is, be with your thoughts. As you are aware of your thoughts, go inside your body to ‘feel’ whatever may be ‘surfacing’…tension, a heavy-type feeling, pain-type sensations in your knees, back or hips for example. What is it for you? Feel whatever that is, with the intention of allowing those feelings to ‘move through. Do not direct the feelings…just be with them. You may go back to what you are thinking and that is okay. To go back to what you are thinking may magnify your feelings making it really obvious of any sensations in the body. Again just be with what you are feeling with the intention that those feelings move through and out;
2) Think about the problem or the situation involved. Go inside yourself and share with your Divine what is going on…as you see it. If you don’t have a Divine…this still works – just talk to your Higher Self like you would a best friend. Share how you perceive what is happening and that you don’t even know how big it is or even the underlying issue involved. Ask your Divine to handle it for you/take it from you. You can ask your Divine to help you resolve whatever is causing you so much unrest. Give gratitude and let it go. Some wonderful words I read the other day, ‘When we ask for something from an authentic place, we only need to ask once and then trust and have faith that our Divine will give us what we’re requesting.’
3) Think about the problem or situation involved. Once you have that, say to yourself, ‘I don’t know!’ Observe what takes place. You may observe that the mind will jump right in there giving you all the things you know. The mind doesn’t want you to think you don’t know. There may be a ‘fight’ going on inside your mind. That is very normal. If you can get to a place where you can truly feel you ‘don’t know’…the healing takes place. It is that magical.
This is a very brief outline of something that can be so powerful. Words can tend to be limiting…just like labelling things tends to limit the vastness of what you are experiencing. If you try these shortcuts…you will come to find your truth or what works for you. The words you use may be totally different from what I shared and that is so perfect! I only share these shortcuts guiding you to find your way…what works for you…find your truth.
When we have problems…issues….challenges….whatever we want to call them….we have no idea where they are coming from or even how far back in time they started. Along our journey, we experienced many things, with many people. We really don’t know what may be influencing what in any moment of time…including how the collective consciousness plays a role. We can know up to a certain point…doesn’t matter what modality we use…and then something ‘grander’ takes over. I share that with you to maybe help ‘lighten’ your load. I learned we can’t fix what the mind created. The mind’s job is to keep us thinking…to keep us looking for answers or ‘fixes.’ Something greater than the mind has to bring about resolution.
Here is a very powerful quote I read the other day said, “You postpone dealing with the ‘what is’, by naming it. “ Sri Bhagavathi Bhagavan.
